My sister and I tried this place when in town recently and LOVED the Mexican hot chocolate - warm, chocolate lay, with the right amount of spice! We also had a biscuit, which was good and buttery. The only miss was the tomato coconut soup, which wasn’t warm at all. I’d go back to try the meat pies!
Brought my British husband to check out the pies and they were amazing. The pastry is perfect-light and not too sweet or over powering. We had one each of the lamb, potato and beef and mushroom pies, as well as the curried vegetable pasties and rhubarb hand pies. Amazing! Thankful our daughter lives nearby and can deliver on her visits!!
The chicken leek pie was a perfectly seasoned, perfectly balanced delectable delight! I can't wait to try all their meat and vegetable pies. Next time I will eat in to be able to enjoy their cider bar. And the strawberry rhubarb pie was yummy!
Meat pies were really tasty. Such a good crust. A bit on the pricey side since everything is a la carte, even just a few chips or something on the side with the pie would have been a more satisfying lunch. I will return to try something sweet though.
One if my favorite local places, with locally-sourced food, and the food is lovely. Enjoy an IPA with your meat pie and some fabulous dessert.
